Your water

What’s actually in Lake Aluma water

Lake Aluma homes are on Town of Lake Aluma, which draws from its own supply. Like nearly all of central Oklahoma, that water can arrive hard — enough calcium and magnesium dissolved in it to leave deposits on everything it touches.

You see it as spots on glassware, a white crust around faucet aerators, film on the shower door, soap that won’t lather properly, and skin that feels tight after a shower. What you don’t see is the same mineral coating the inside of your water heater, where it insulates the element and makes the heater burn more energy for less hot water.

The only way to know your number

City-wide averages tell you very little about your particular house — the age of your plumbing, your water heater and where you sit on the distribution network all matter. We test at your kitchen sink, free, and show you the result while we’re standing there.

“Kaleb had worked on a previous shower remodel at our house & we were so impressed with him that we called Good Bros for some plumbing issues with our rental property. He is knowledgeable, professional & punctual. We will definitely call again with any plumbing issues! Thanks!”

“Kalob and his team did an outstanding job and quick as well. Thursday I noticed our toilets were back filling (not overflowing thank goodness). Tried plunging but it wasn’t doing anything. I checked the outside service pipe and saw that the water was almost up to the ground level. Experiencing a similar thing at my previous home I knew something was clogged further down the sewer line. Kalob came out to snake the line all the way to the main sewer line. What he found out was a chunk of the pipe was missing near the main sewer so the sewage was seeping into the ground. Could definitely smell it. He gave me the quote same day and I approved the work. Saturday morning him and his team came out and repaired the broken part of the pipe. While doing the repair he discovered that the fiber company installed their fiber lines directly through the sewer line. We’ve only moved in a month ago so there’s no way we would have known. I am please with the work he did and we no longer have the sewer issue and no longer have a hole in the lawn. I didn’t understand the hole when we purchased the home, I just thought maybe a big rock or chuck of concrete was removed at some point. Thank you Kalob and Good Bro’s Plumbing for the immediate high quality work which prevented this from being an even worse issue!! I’ll definitely recommend your company to anyone I know that needs your expertise and will use you again in the future if I need it!!”

Questions

Lake Aluma water questions

Call us if yours isn’t here — a real person answers.

Where does Lake Aluma's water come from?

Lake Aluma is supplied by Town of Lake Aluma, drawing from its own supply. That source is what determines how hard the water is and what else is in it, which is why we test at your own tap rather than quote you a city average.

Do I need a water softener in Lake Aluma?

Most Lake Aluma homes benefit from one, but "most" isn't "all" and we won't pretend otherwise. The honest answer comes from testing your water. If it comes back soft enough that a system wouldn't pay for itself, we'll tell you that.

How much does a water softener cost in Lake Aluma?

The whole-home system is $2,699 installed, and it is the same price whether you are on city water or a well - most companies charge more for a well build. Financing is available at 0% for up to 24 months. Reverse osmosis and the larger builds are quoted after the water test, because what you need depends on what the test finds.

How long does installation take in Lake Aluma?

A whole-home system is usually a half day. An under-sink reverse osmosis system is around two hours. We send our own installers, not subcontractors, and we clean up before we leave.
